I'm looking for like minded preppers on Vancouver Island to share thoughts and ideas for preparedness. I am actually in the Oceanside side (Parksville/Qualicum Beach/Errington) and just started prepping a few months ago.

you should leave a message on the BC specific section. Each province has one.

The AB one has several threads related to people meeting up or sharing ideas specific to their geography. I'm guessing BC has the same thing going on.

Hello, I think it would be fun to try and get a few together. I am in the Comox Valley area so not too far. But ya posting the the general BC area might get a better response!

You can PM after you post a certain number of 'replies'. It doesn't take long... can't recall exact number.

Hello
We live in Nanaimo and have been prepping for a while now. We would love to correspond with anyone on the island and discuss prepping.

Hello
Don't know if everyone is aware but on the National Geographic channel, there is an entire 12 episode season of a show called Doomsday Prepper. (easy to find and download on torrent) What an eye opener. Yes some of the people on the program are "out there" I cannot believe all the pearls they were shooting. The contents of this series would make for a great discussion here on Vancouver Island.

Yes I've watch a few episodes of Doomsday Preppers. I think it's a great show, but I do think they sensationalize the whole thing a bit. They always have to have a specific reason that that specific prepper is prepping. polar sift , supervolcano , whatever. One of the episodes showed a guy shoot his thumb half off - I say faker! But hey , it's a great show but it sure makes you think that your grossly underprepped! Those guys sure are armed! But we don't even know a fraction of what is going on south of the border right now - the arming and stocking of munitions. I smell something coming! Or that might be the paranoid me!

Hi Northernone! Welcome! This is great! More Islanders!

I think we should do a meet up to share info/experiences. Power is in networking. I know that everyone has families, jobs, etc. But I think it is important to do this sooner than later.

What do you think?
