Make, a 12 volt drill, without battery. Take a 12 volt drill, take dead battery out of handle. Look inside handle you will see 2 tabs open handle and locate pos and neg tabs, or locate on Battery when you take it out. Mark then with marker., POS and NEG . 🙂
Make a power cord form rv power cable, or 16 ga wire, make a connector for both , then get 2 alligator clips and attach one on each cable, these go to your 12 auto battery. Make the cable 20 feet in length, good to reach from front of vehicle to back. This will power your drill for as long as you wish.
Good for all types of jobs. You can get older 12v drill from Sally Ann, Value Village for about 5-10 bucks.
Love it- was thinking about this last week- i was going to try a regular drill- i dont think armatures know the difference do they? i also want to build a wind generator from a ceiling fan using the components- but the drill should run a small altrernator to charge other batteries- what say ye?
Great tip Cpobob62 and easy enough that most people could do it. They practically give away used drills at yard sales when the batteries are toast. The newer drills are 18V + so you need one of the older ones. Thank goodness there are many around.
Geopat you would have to use a 12V DC drill for this purpose.
