Very tricky subject here in canada. You can only match force with force, if they use fists you can use fist, if they use a knife as can you ect. Here in canada we don't really have a right to self defence.
Also I'm not a fan of the term weapon I prefer the term tool.
My firearms are not weapons they are tools, A weapon is defined as a device intended for the use in an attach or defense in a combat, fight or war. When the term weapon gets used it adds fuel to the fire of the people who wants to control our gun rights. just my two cents

Your completely right! Here basically our only tools can be: firearms such as hunting rifles and shotguns, also we can have axes, base ball bats, hatchets and knives. I guess thats all. There is no more we can have. 😥

Actually, the very best "tool" you can have for protection is "Situational Awareness". Even though many cultures hunted by driving their prey to a predetermined place for the kill, human beings, in fact, developed as ambush predators. Keeping that in mind, try getting into the habit of looking for ambush sites where ever you may be. (How would you set up an ambush and how would you neutralize it) (Where are the exits) (Where are cover and concealment positions) (How could you avoid an ambush). In the beginning it requires a bit of effort but after awhile, it becomes second nature. It's not paranoia, it's common sense, just be aware of your surroundings and the types of situations that can develop in those surroundings.

If you are a member of an archery club you are allowed to own a bow or a crossbow along with the accompanying arrows or bolts.
If someone is breaking into your house and your life is threatened and in the act of defending your domicile and of course your life you could defend yourself with a bow and arrow or crossbow and bolt. I do believe that no matter what, especially if lethal force was used, you would still end up charged by the police and in court, thereby having to pay for a lawyer to defend your right to defend your life.
But in a life and death situation I would rather be alive and have to defend myself than to be dead and not be able to.

If you ask me, it always matters of the situation. I mean if its a Nuclear Bomb I'm going to stay inside. But if its a solar storm chances are that I'm going to run away north to Barrie.

I believe that I may be too young to buy myself any archery material. After all I'm only 16.

Get a deck of playing cards. Its all in the wrist. My hubby can put one 1" deep in a phone book. There are 52 in a deck + the jokers and he can fire them quicker then you can sqeal like a pig. At 16 you can legally buy those and practise in your bedroom.

Playing cards are too easily moved by the wind. I would probably prefer an ax in this case.

At 16 yo, knowledge is your best tool. Learn as much as you can, in all aspects of prepping - from this site and others, books whatever. I wouldn't focus too much on personal weapons until you can get your PAL (firearms license) A nice fixed blade would be a start.

Your best tool is your mind. Use it, practice with it and perfect your skills.

Here’s a good question, is a baseball bat considered equal force to a knife. Just have your gun in your belt just for intimidation. 😉

Sadly I'm too young for a gun. Also guns aren't allowed in Ontario. Only hunting rifles and shotguns. I'm not too sure that my parents would buy a gun. 🙁

I would suggest you do some research and learn the law and how it pertains to the ownership of firearms. There are many falicies out there and your statement "guns aren't allowed in Ontario".. is one. I am not sure exactly what your meaning is.
