I have always intuitively been preparing. I think that comes with lots of time spent camping, canoeing, sailing, surf trips.... understanding the need for self-sufficiency. The more you know the less you need sort of mentality. I think Yvonne Chouinard of Patagonia said that.
I'm in Simcoe County, Ontario. After years of explorations, back home with the family and my wife. Preparing for the transitions ahead. Preping for the worst, manifesting the best.

I am Iz, also new to the group.
Your water system intrigues me. I am thinking I should start a savings jar for one of these 🙂 I hate buying bottled water, Britas bug me (they have always kind of freaked me out, don't know why?) and tap water is gross. 😯
I am also a gardener. Right now a pavement gardener but, we try in our buckets. I used to have an acre plus garden every year once upon a time! We start from seeds indoors and the transplant to outside, if I could just keep my neighbours animals out of my plants I would be thrilled! They use everything as a chew toy or a litter box 🙁 Anyways, thanks for the water info! And care to share some gardening tips?
