Hi everybody!!!
Been skulking around in the shadows for a couple of months now, decided it was time to register. Totally new to this whole prepping lifestyle/philosophy/idea. But am very interested in everything i have seen and read so far. Located in the suburbs of Toronto, married 16 yrs, 2 daughters. Family thinks i have gone a little nutty, but as i told them "if something bad goes down, we will be more ready then most, and if nothing bad happens, i ve learned some new skills and wont need to grocery shop for awhile." And just in case anyone of you are wondering about the screen name, yyz- Toronto airport designator and mec- short for mechanic(been swinging a wrench for one airline or another for the past 25 yrs).

yes cool name and welcome welcome to you.

I might have some electrical questions for you in regards to charging batteries. Thanks for jumping in, the TO area seems to be bulging with us preppers/survivalists and it is a nice change to see so many jump in here.

Tonight the wind is blowing the temps are dropping and I expect the roads to be iced over very quickly. Now a full blown ice storm but it could be nasty enough. So people like you will be A ok for a while.
cheers and welcome ~Ed

Hi Beth,
My name is Sherry, new to prepping, but trying to prep to catch up . I believe I am the only one in my family prepping, Single mom, 5 lovely children to provide for (not an excuse for pitty but determination to provide...;) ).
Happy to have found this Site, I have been purchasing the very few things the past year, pack from red cross, the odd thing or tow, but this year, its like I have an urgency to rush and get all that I need, with little funds, but will do what I can.

Sherry

The more you do, the better off you'll be. Remember, the most important prep you can do is get knowledge. Books or google will help with learning survival. Try to become part of a group and teach your kids. CPN has a lot of knowledgable people so come on often and visit us.
