Hello,
I am from Alberta. Mid central Alberta.Just checking the site out. Not a lot of us around compared to the USA.
Been at it for a while, maybe 8 years or so.Feeling pretty comfortable now. Not worried about much but always looking to learn how others do things.I will read the posts, and see what I can learn.

Hi, analog man
Glad you found us, hope you find some useful stuff, but it sounds like you would have lots to tell us. Are you urban or rural?
I think we are reaching a tipping point as far as people becoming aware of the need to prepare for sh!t happening, whatever that may be. I only "became a prepper" recently, about 9 months ago. But I must have always been mindful of not running out of stuff, as I recall my daughter going to the linen closet for toothpaste or something and saying how she liked "shopping at home." When I was married we had a van conversion rv and I liked knowing that if an earthquake happened or for some reason the electricity went out we could still cook meals. I am now more focused about the who, what, where, and why of preparing for the unusual.
Hello Vanislemom,
I am rural, but by a twist of circumstances I am now also urban somewhat as I have a elderly parent 80+ that I brought out from Victoria, and put into a small house in a small town where its close enough that I can go over, and take care of things as needed.
Its only been a few months and am already finding I need permits to do most anything in town. I think I will butting heads with the town soon as I dont like being told what I can and cant do on my own property.
I take it that you are on the island? I left in 1981 and only returned once this summer.I could not believe how crowded it is now! and expensive!
