I too am bald and ex-military and just a bit older than middle age, depending on what middle age is supposed to be.
I was born and raised in southern Ontario and thanks to the military I got a look at Vancouver in January and after seeing flowers blooming rather than snow banks that was it for me and Ontario.
My wife and I are both enjoying the adventure that is prepping and figuring out ways to be self sufficient and hope in the next few years to be partially/possibly totally off grid.
There is much to learn and to be shared as far as prepping goes and I look forward to your input.

Greetings Alex, my retirement posting was Borden, and I also live in Angus at the time. your in a good location to start off from. I know that there are a few people in the Barrie area that you can get together with in the future if you wish to do so. Good luck to you and yours in the future.
