I'm very excited to have found this website/forum/community. Let me officially say in advance that I am privileged and honored to meet you and thank you to those whose efforts keep this site afloat.

Ideally what I would like to accomplish is this:

1) Meet other preppers in the Niagara and/or southern Ontario region (incl the GTA)... eventually I would like to meet people in person.
2) Exchange ideas and strategies
3) Teach each other skills (food prep, hunting, fishing, survival skills, bush craft..etc)
4) Create a network for goods and service exchange including personal resources (for example buying direct from a farmer..etc)
5) Build bonds and friendships with like minded people

I have the mentality of being a civilian sheepdog. When or if society breaks down or the proverbial $hit hits the fan I don't want to be in my home bunker with my back against the wall and barrels pointed out. I want to protect my fellow Canadians, help them, band together, and create new communities and networks. Survival takes teamwork. Think about what the settlers of this great country had to go through to make it what it is today. Think about how much people trusted and relied upon their neighbor and how everyone looked out for each other. This country was built on the notion of "good-faith"and in order to overcome potential catastrophes in the future we must revert back to the roots of our grandparents, great grandparents, and every other generation before us. I truly think that MOST people will show their generous, kind, and empathetic hearts in times of emergency or even times of apocalyptic catastrophe but the realist and the prepper in me knows to 'prep'are for some potentially very ugly times ahead . There is more good on this earth than there is evil but it is the evil who control the earth. If the 'good' rise up in times of peril we can strike down evil forces looking to destroy our way of life or looking to keep us fat, dumb, fearful, and consumption based.
