Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 41, a software developer living in the Beaches, looking to remove myself from the madness of the city. Sometimes I think most of the people around me have their head in the sand. But I guess that's a common feeling. I'm currently looking at getting property to go offgrid on in the Kawartha area. I'm open to any advice all yall have on good locations, good communities, etc. I'm still having those internal debates about where I want to end up, and what I should be expecting out of a move. But I do know that I need to find likeminded, self-reliant people. That's why I'm here.

Cheers,

The Chilcotin is a bit of a distance from you but has the advantage of being well removed from large urban areas (largest population centre within fours hours is Williams lake pop. 12,000). Plenty of game, and self-reliance is a way of life here for most rural families. I doubt if you are planning on moving this far, but the internet is a great forum for bringing everyone closer together. Good luck to you in your search.
