Hello ladies and gents.
So. I've taken the leap and joined an online community. I'd been lurking for a short time, trying to get a sense of things. The little bit you get to read as a guest is just a tease though.
In a nutshell:
* Nearly 40. Married. With kids.
* Live in south Ontario, between that lake and the one south of it.
* Had many different types of jobs since I was young. My last gig was an automotive apprentice.
* I've been an outdoors type for years - fishing, camping...few years ago starting to hunt (with success even!).
* Been reading about survivalism (from early 90's - ASG anyone?) and have been completely in agreement and fascinated by it. Then, I couldn't practice the things I was reading about. Now I'm big and I can do whatever I want 🙂
* I have a bit of an unhealthy liking to tools...and what tools can do.
The bad news (or good sometimes I'm told) is I'm really kind of shy - but I'm quite outspoken. Yeah, I have no idea how that works either. I question almost everything. I'm an acquired taste I guess. I make friends slowly and carefully...but when I call you friend it's more like family member. Anyway.
I'm looking forward to reading your stuff and discussing things. Let's see where this goes!

Hello and welcome
Love your nic name and sense of humor. What kinds of tools do you collect 🙂
Wecome rws. You sound like a somewhat younger version of myself. I too am "between the lakes".. sort of.. Haldimand County. Be glad to get to know you and see if our tastes might meld...
@ oldschool - hello and thanks for the welcome. And I don't think I've met a tool I didn't like, running on gas or sweat. I even take broken ones, just to see if I can get them back to work or even if I can make them do something else. I'll take plastic ones too...so I have something to lend out if I think I'll never see it again, hehe. If I collect anything in particular, it's old pocket knives. I love pocket knives.
@ JustABear - I love Haldimand County. My grandfather had a camping spot where he parked his travel trailer outside of Dunnville for years. I occasionally hunt on a farm out that way too. I hit parts of the Grand river any chance I get to fish. Nice to meet you!
