I'm a journalism student studying in the U.S. (but originally from Vancouver). I am writing my Masters thesis about Preppers and would love to get in touch with some of you...particularly those of you in B.C. I'm interested in hearing about why you became interested in prepping, what steps you have taken to be ready, and what your friends or family have to say about it -- especially if they are not particularly supportive about the idea. I'm just beginning my research now, so I'd really appreciate it if any of you would be willing to reach out and have a chat (either through email or on the phone) about your stories.

Are you a prepper or survivalist yourself?
Simple answer everyone should be a prepper, at least get in 2 weeks worth of stuff for survival in place, have you every watched the news with all the storms and such that create havoc on our modern way of life?

No, I am not a prepper or survivalist myself. But I am certainly becoming very interested in it. It seems, with all the possible catastrophes the world faces now, more and more people are seeing the importance of being prepared. In fact, the increasing popularity is one of the things I would like to focus on in my paper. I did take a look at your blog and you've got a lot of great information on there! Would it be okay if I emailed you directly? I would love to pick your brain on some ideas.
