Still winter here, weather has turned warm now today, but a lot of snow needs to melt. I have decided I must prepare better for heating with wood, due to effects of aging and health. I am going to build a attached atrium to the back side of the house. 10X20 all glass and steel. Should hold 7+ cord of wood (about two years worth). This going outside for wood in -35 is getting old. I cant build it this year, but I hope to start on it next year and have it ready for the winter of 2020-21. I have a supply of roughly 2.5 x 4.5ft glass panels for free, so I just need to buy some steel.

A atrium because according to the tax assessor I don't need a permit, leave it 1/2 inch from attaching to the house and it can be considered a agricultural out building.

Good luck with that build peppercorn! I totally agree... It does get old fast. We keep our winters firewood under our deck and a couple days worth on top on the deck beside our door.
