Yet another reminder of why it is so important to secure your own food supply.
Whilst we may at this stage be flooded with cheap imports, what happens if those imports stop?
The trees are already gone and cannot be replaced with the stroke of a politician's pen. 😡
This situation must be absolutely heartbreaking for the farmers and workers to lose their livelihood and how much more heartbreaking will it be for a nation to lose it's food supply when the 'imports' come to a halt or the 'cheap' becomes expensive? 🙁
Looking forward to getting back home in spring and getting back into the garden.
Cares,
I was very moved by this video, thankyou for posting it. What happens when the consequences unfold, imports stop or they jack up the price exorbidantly? It will be too late to use commonsense. Awful, sad. I feel so sorry for the situation.
Sadly more people want more and cheaper.. Food from China does NOT make it into my house.. no matter what. If it says Made in china.. packed in China I'm not buying it. I will pay more for better quality..
My family was discussing economics with some people they met on vacation in the banking and investment industries and their speculated forecast was for long term inflation and mortgage lending rates rising significantly to the higher range we have seen in the past of 18 % and higher . That too needs to be an additional preasure on food availability and cost . More and more I see references to wheat, milk/dairy , corn, soy and processed meats , processed food product of all sorts in fact now being determined to be poor for your health . Not only are we changing our lifestyle now but changing our diet concurrently . More and cheaper is coming at a huge cost to health of our bodies and health of the environment .
