I went to the calgary horticultural show last weekend and just heard about this topic... we are moving to a location with poor soil, so we're looking for ways to grow stuff in raised beds.
They directed me to a few places in calgary;

I'm going to link these in the AB threads also...
Permaculture is awesome....if you can afford the fee's ($1200.00 approx) it is probably the best thing you can do for yourself to become educated about permaculture. It works in deserts, jungles, cold climates, hot climates, poor soil, no soil....everywhere! The theory is that even a tiny urban backyard can provide you with food year round - I'm in the process of attempting this on less than 1/2 of a normal sized block (which includes a tiny cottage). Ryker has posted in the Canadian forum (General Canadian Discussions) about Geodesic dome greenhouses - it's well worth a look! 😀

I'll go looking for that thread.
It gets hard to keep track of threads that i was following vs ones that were dead-ends...
I will do a write up on the Seven Layer of Food Forests and one on a indepth look in regards to building the beds, as well as sharing the seminars advice and warnings and will link it up as I get them done.

This one has a overview, as wella s links to the presenters farm and even a 20 min video, as well as links to my own step by step photo's on how to build your own garden beds.
On the links for the Greenshire Farm, they also have a video on their own baby started Food Forest, near as I can tell, mine is a number of years ahead of theres but the information is quite good.
