Are there any groups already organized in Manitoba? I have prepared for my family, and now would like to form a group. I have spent considerable time researching how to organize a group, now ready to put it into practice. Anybody interested?
I would be interested in discussing further, please PM me. Eastern Manitoba.
I'm with Aphrael on this but at the same time I realize that in a true SHTF Scenerio anyone, no matter how well prepared, will not last long when trying to stand alone.
Prepper Communities will stand the best chance of survival. In a SHTF Scenerio it will take Numbers and the Combination of various skill sets to survive against the roving hoards.
I'm content for now, Like Aphrael, to remain behind my computer screen, but I'm willing to discuss idea's and options for working together.

I'll also freely admit that there's a snowball's chance in hell I'll agree to meet up with people looking for a face to face meeting when their posting history on the site is so small. DaScribbler made a great point with the word community. The members of this forum I feel a sense of community with are all based in different locales. I formed that sense of community in sharing posts, and getting a feel for personalities and people.
I honestly can't think of many safety (never mind survival) conscious individuals who'd blithely set up a meeting with someone they met online, on the basis of one or two posts on the internet. It seems... rash.

Oh sweetheart, I don't have to run faster than the bear...

I am interested in forming/joining a group in Manitoba. Preferably those who have at least started preparing on a basic level or have a clear idea of what they need and what may lie ahead. What actually lies ahead of us is uncertainty about what will happen or its exact timeline. Some peace of mind will be attained through preparation, foresight, and mutual support when the time comes. Armchair experts need not reply.
Good day,
I am a retired Military officer and was a military contractor. I have set up base in kenora Ontario, i believe that the natural resources here can provide for a long dirty stay. Plenty of timber for rebuilding, hydro electric dams and access to the trans canada corridor for trade make it an ideal location. Plus it is home to the 117 field artillery battery. All said i believe if something major comes down the pipe you should rally here. Remember to pack your adze....
I am willing in the event of a life ending event to share my knowledge and hearth with those that need it. But we must be vigilant, be ready, and be armed
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I got busy with some other things.
Thanks for the reply and consideration. I am a former army reservist F.G.H. and re-enlisted when I was a little too old in the Engineers.
Is the area you have in mind capable of gowing food?
Seems to me that there isn't any survival communities in Manitoba. The Amish community who live in Manitoba have a
greater chance of survival when a breakdown of the current systems occur than the individuals who post on this site.
If your rural, farm property, and prepared, ie water, food, shelter, off the grid your odds increase over being in Winnipeg or Brandon. If your in groups or communities your odds of survival are better. We have become so individualized, so much
so that we are unable to come together to create a group. This forum seems to be a casual meeting place at best.

Hey Manitoba,
What is the hang up?? Why are you folks not talking to each other??? What Opsec issue is holding you back from at least trying to communicate with each other??
Is this a situation where the people with the skills do not operate a computer and the ones who operate a computer do not have enough prepping skills?? Or are the preppers in your province so tight, that they do not need to use this communications tool to netwrok and build alliances now before you need them??
Manitoba needs some leaders to step up and start getting some traffic going here to spark your community to life!!!!
I am willing to help with posting on your board from a far. But, folks, you have to take the lead for yourselves. Monitor the Ontario board or the Canadian Board for ideas on topics.
Go luck Manitoba.
Mountainman.
