So in being new here I am unsure if this has been covered, but I'd love some feedback. I have a family of four with two small children (4 and 6) and we rent the house we live in. We would love to buy our own place sometime but right now it is not feasible. Our preps rely pretty heavily on the bug-in strategy but who knows what can happen. If we were forced to leave our home our plan at the moment would be to take anything useful and essentially go long term camping. Now, that being said I live on the north island where our winters (well most seasons actually) are very wet and can be cold. Of course shelter would be huge, with heating coming in a close second. I am very close to purchasing a Utah 10 person tent from the camping equipment company (anybody have anything to say about this tent?) for my family to use if such a scenario unravelled. Is this a feasible option? Is there another route I could go that I'm missing here? Obviously this problem weighs heavily on my mind so I would appreciate any insight from the group. Thanks all!
