I'm interested in the homesteading part. I read that the latest [NASA, US Army etc.] studies say we have about 15 years before the doo-doo hits the fan, before the global greed/party-on system gets one disaster too many and collapses. So i'm not too interested in the survivalist part [even with Harper i can't see Canada deteriorating far enough to warrant much paranoia, buying camo gear etc.]. But i am of course very interested in independence, in off-the-gridness.
What i am seeking: to start or join a commune/land co-op on the North Coast of B.C. My only 'prepping' has/is saving money. It's a complicating factor [with the group you get advantages but the chances of somebody being loony tunes is scary] but land costs [etc.] mean it's practically unavoidable for most of us.
Anywho- please write if you're interested in my choice of location...
