I am looking to learn about more than just keeping a few buckets of beans and rice in the basement . I have a bug out location if TSHF about a hundred miles away . i am looking to learn what i can keep in an unheated basement LONGTERM. as in learning how to put together a list of necessities or an already designed list . thank you all for being here and spreading your knowledge so unselfishly . be well
Hello from the Far North! I live only 1200 miles north of Toronto, so I likely can't say I'm close....in fact, Calgary is closer and I'm still in Ontario, although the nearest Tim Hortons is 45 miles away.(I figure this bit of info will give the curious something to do). Lots of folks around here have many of the attributes of a prepper without realizing it. Isolated living can do that. Also most of us didn't vote for Harper but we still own guns, (cause an interest in hunting and fishing is pretty much why we live here),along with a boat , a snowmachine and 2 fourwheel drives(if your married). We don't lock our doors(yet) when we leave and yes, we have a paved highway even up to here. Our high school still has a shooting range in it and most kids here have their FAC and hunting courses ASAP. Deer walk around town daily and almost every house has at least one dog. I spent 23 years in the city before I determined I didn't want to grow old there. Most don't know what they are missing!
New guy from Hants county Nova Scotia intersted in starting out prepping gonna start on my basic prep
Hi, I am new to prepping. I am from New Brunswick. I have been watching and trying to learn what is the best way to start. I am also trying to find the cheapest way as I am on disability. I am hoping I can start a long term storage system that I will use daily. I am very pleased to see that I will be able to do it in Canada and not have to have everything shipped from another country. I am eager to learn, all ways of prepping from doing it at home to buying the products to gardening. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Kathleen256

Interested in meeting people in the fraser valley area. From the posts I have read, it looks like an adventure - appreciate the humour
Good day,
My name is Mike and I am posting from Edmonton, Alberta.
I am relatively new to prepping but, a keen interest in it and figured this is a good place to get started.
I also have a few other fellows in my circle of friends who are interested as well so, I figured I would step up and register here with intentions of learning as much as we can and, possibly meeting other like minded individuals or groups.
Thanks for reading this and, have a fantastic day.
New member here from the Eastern Ontario region. It sure would be nice to get to know and meet others with the same mind set.
