Hello everyone! I'm relatively new to prepping... I have 5 years military and 9 years police experience in the UK (so I have a few transferable skills), and have been living in Canada since 2004. I was always aware of my surroundings and about how I conducted myself, but just this year (2012) I have become enlightened as to the situation. I read a book (and I'm sure many of you will have also read it) entitled HOW TO SURVIVE THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT - Tactics, Techniques, and Technologies for Uncertain Times By James Wesley, Rawles - Founder of Survivalblog.com. Oh my! This book blew my mind. I had an entire shift of paradigm! I moved to Canada with my family because the world (United Kingdom) was changing rapidly for the worst, but after I read Rawles' book I started my quest for knowledge. I have also recently taken it upon myself to start my own blog the7gs.ca and intend to extract some of the valuable information form the politic diatribe known as real-news and tell it like it is (or at least my perception of reality). I hope you will all join me! My tag line is Get educated, and be prepared to survive the uncertainty of the near future… And I sincerely look forward to contributing to the Preppers Network forums.

Welcome 7g's,

Had a look at your blog. Looks good.

If you like Rawles books, his blog is pretty good, too. www dot survivalblog dot com.

Cheers,

Mountainman.

Hello everyone. I have been active on the APN site and just saw this International version tonight. I thought I would check it out and see what fellow preppers from other countries are doing. It looks like this is set up like APN, and I have been so happy over there with the other preppers I have met online and in person, as well as all the great information, so I signed up here. I have been prepping since I got out of the Army back in the early 90's. I am now retired, living in the mountains in my cabin off the grid and loving it. (no, this is not my computer working up there, I have to come down to "civilization" to use it) Anyway, I look forward to learning from those that are here and hope to be able to contribute as well. My handle here - "feralgun" is the same over at APN if any of you go there as well. Cheers, fg 419
