This add just came up... For 700 dollar, you cant really go wrong, this looks to be a complete/ all wired up, just add what ever amount of batteries you want. For someone not wanting to put a system together, selecting parts and all that...well its all done for you here, even battery cables included.....

Peppercorn,

I want to pass on my thanks for sharing your good finds on local sites. I got a few projects on the go so solar development is being shelved for the time being...

Having you post that info helps creating a baseline for cost and availability. It's appreciated.

Your welcome. I usually only post if the price looks good. I just checked and that package is already sold...

Have you looked at the Tesla solar roof tiles and their wall units that include the inverter and the batteries all wrapped up in a little box for the side of your house. Alittle pricey yes, but if you're building from scratch...

First its to new of a product for me to consider. I wouldnt buy a expensive product just comming out of the gate, let it get a few years of use first. Roof tiles sound good until you realise most roofs are not oriantated due south, but also at our northern latitude you really need a good slope, in fact I sugjest to people to not mount panels on thier roof but ground mount, fixed south, and at a steep angle for max winter production (steep like 75-80 degrees) Sheds snow well and if it doesnt you can just use a broom on a ground mount system and not have to worry about climbing up a roof to sweep.

Then there are the batteries, charge controllers, inverter, all very likely proprietary products leaving you captive to a single source for your future needs, or even worse if tesla abandons the product or goes bankrupt you would have to replace everything at once if (no when) a component fails.

Then there are the battery claims...Im not saying wrong, but I believe "optimistic" would be the word I would use, for a number of reasons.

maybe im just grumpy.
