I usually post about good inverter deals but for a change I will post about a generator, just in case there are any generator collectors out there ( I know there are). I see maybe one of these pop up for sale on the used market once a year or so, they are not rare, lots of them out there. This was as far as I know the first commercially mass produced 120 volt ac generator made to produce ac power from two axial spinning ferrite magnets. Nothing inside that generator head than two flat magnets that rotate past two coils and a interesting feature about the coils is they are not wound of wire but of one long flat copper strip maybe a half inch or more wide.
As I think about it this is the only Axial produced design I know of, all others are radial. These generators had great output, lots of punch, motors would just snap to attention when turned on. The down side is this generator head is mounted to a lousy engine. They also made this style in a 3000 watt unit but the output bearings in the brigs motors couldn't take the stress of supporting all that weight in a 3000 watt size. So if someone wants something unusual and useful this is it. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-business-industrial/red-deer/mcculloch-generator/1375151993?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
This is also a great unit at job sites for practical jokes on new hires. When its running ask the new hire to pick it up and bring it closer....
