Driving, that's right Driving...most everyone I know can tell a story of a near miss, or hit. With winter diving being the most dangerous.
This is one of the best clips I have seen, taken from dash cams. I always believe in learning by doing, but in this case learning from others is a good thing. Note just how fast things can go sideways, let it sink in.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWrUc0ctVBk
Give a man a gun, and he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he can rob the world.
That is true as true can be. I've recently started driving a bus for the city and some of the chances I've seen people taking make me shake my head. They were relying on others to take evasive actions to prevent a collision. I've noticed that the most dangerous areas is at the changing of the lights. They said that at driving school but now I understand. A simple extra look either way when the light turns green to make sure everyone is stopping makes a difference. I've personally avoided being t-boned because of this.
There is a simple step to take. An extra test of the rules of the road every five years. People need refreshers and to break there bad habits. I personally see at least 5 people an hour on their phones while driving, and I'm not even looking for them. The fine for someone on there phone I think is over $450, it could be more and it goes way up for multiple offences.
Don't Agonize, Organize.
I have to admit that the ice car training I took before I did a local race went along way to learning how to come out of issues, hitting snow bamks and learning out to get out of them was very helpful, and as much as I hate to admit it, learning how drive and work around an take hits on the track where all good things..
