I'd also like confirmation about something I read a while back:
Is it true that leftover Kerosene can be used in an oil furnace for home heating?

Kerosene is refined heating oil that burns a bit cleaner and hotter
Go find a bulk supplier of Fuel, especially one that sells both Heating Fuel and Diesel Fuel, chances are they also carry Kerosene. The price per the small containers is on the rise, the price was $12 last spring now it is about $22-24 ouch..
So get it in bulk..
There are articles online that will tell you how to modify bulk heating oil and Diesel to go in a Kero heater also articles that tell you how to modify left over Oil to go in kero heater. None of which I have done nor can I say is safe, just telling you so you can go and look.
good luck
Thanks very much for the advice Wild_E. As I'm new to kero heating, I didn't know that the price of small containers had risen so sharply...
Merry Christmas!*

Thanks for the feedback,
Yesterday I was in Canadian Tire and the Price was now $27.50 for the same container that last year spring time was $13 !!!!
might want to look at getting small propane heater, hook it up to a large 20lb or 100lb tank with an adaptor hose. Hose cost about $35 so first use first pay off, over the little 1 pint propane bottles.
That post was a re-post from someone else of like mind who also lives off gird.
Best of wishes in your future and Merry Christmas
Gee, I wonder why the price has sky-rocketed in the last year??... Anyway, good thing I bought the heater mostly for power outages and not as a main heating source.
Thanks again for the great info and Merry Christmas!
