Just thought I'd chime in and comment about a common tidbit of info that so many preppers seem to point out, and that is in a disaster or SHTF scenario, food supplies in the local stores will be exhausted within three days. Well this past Friday I went out at 9 PM to pick up a few items just as the snow started and I noticed that several items were completely stripped from the shelves. Milk, bread, water, pop, juice, fresh vegetables, snack foods and various canned foods were noticeably absent from the shelves. I mean this was just from the threat of 30 cms of snow. In a real SHTF scenario, I'd give it less than 24 hours, if your lucky. ❗ ❗
Isn't that a sobering real life moment!! Thanks for sharing!
Well. I was prepared before the storm even got close to being here so no worries about that, but yes, in a real situation the stores would have been emptied very quickly. I am originally from Northern Ontario where blizzards actually stay longer than 3 days and I can easily remember stores being empty even 2-3 days before the big snow hit.
