Just looked a some media coverage of crowd behaviour at some Thanksgiving sales in the US - completely out of control, pushing shoving and grabbing just to get a cheap (useless?) item. Like vultures tearing at a caracas.

Made me think of how people will behave if there was a food shortage or other disaster than limited supply of essential goods. Good to feel prepared and to know that, at least for a month, we would not have to interact with the food supply system in a time of crisis.
Wow that's just crazy especially when alot of those waffle makers will be on a garage sale table within a couple of years. This year I've been getting nothing but Black Friday sale flyers in the local papers so it's heading our way and it's just a matter of time before that same sort of behaviour is here.

Lots of my american friends where deciding to shop online - same deals anyway and free shipping in most cases. Seriously - you would push someone to get a waffle maker??? I bet NOT ONE of them had a list that said waffle maker on it - they just got caught in the frenzy!
I too wonder at the possibilities for a panic in a disaster situation. The thought of being so unprepared is down right stupid! I was in the grocery store a few weeks ago when a couple went by. The guy said: do we need any of these (canned soup)? she answered: no honey we have ONE at home. For goodness sakes if it's on sale by a case if you can afford it. I nearly had to bite my tongue off to not say something right there 🙂

Just proves you do not want to be in line at Costco after things go south. But I am preaching to the choir.
