Just reading the web site on cherry crops. My niece worked at the place one year. Wow I had no idea the growers were so hard hit by the weather. Feel bad for the farmers.

I would think the prices will have to go through the roof if the families are to make it to next year 🙁

Yes, I have been reading about the damage to the fruit crops in ontario, Quebec and most of the eastern upper growing area near by in the states and not only is there going to be very limited fresh local fruits, with more having to come in from the west coast area but that we will see a increase in prices, I am very pleased that so far(and at this time its fairly safe) all my own hard fruit trees have bloomed out and not been hit by frost and my soft fruit bushes and grapes are coming in on target for what looks like a bumper crop.. if the summer is indeed as dry as you wrote about earlier, I might have to do more watering from the deep drilled well where as typically I dry land space plant and don't really water much at all, but so far, we have been good. At least the rhubarb crop all over is good this year and it can be used in so many ways..

Oh some guy was on tv the other night... ugh can not think of his name... 🙁
He said it is too early to say yea or nay on the summer crops. It would be another summer of wait and see.
I know the maple syrup run this year was too fast and not as good as last year. We got about half of what we wanted to.

Just heard from a strawbery farmer friend and he says it looks like his strawberries are going to be OK. Great news! We're almost out!
