UPDATE
Info to be posted tomorrow, worked out a price structure, free downloads, free handouts and free taste testing day of Edible tour!
Loads of info, very knowledgeable person, very personable to boot. She has been posting some unique winter foraging photos on her blog and website, so will post a couple here as well.
Winter berries, warning strong flavour, better tasting if your a Veggie person, or on a Paleo diet, not sure why but kinda makes sense.
Feb tour, alternate following weekend if snowstorm or this winter,, rainstorm!
details tomorrow 😀
edit : Since the turn out is struggling, there will be a much reduced price, no handouts unless the orginal price is paid, so please sign up, pay at location if you would like

Thank-you so much and I look forward to meeting everyone!
(scouting two different locations this coming weekend, for Durham Region locations, nice walking areas with loads of Wild Edibles showing in winter time)

look for this in winter!
Plantain seeds in winter
Now if the interest is so high that we can run a Saturday and a Sunday workshop, the more the merrier and the better for everyone.
These folks also sell some Field Guides and nutritional guides on Natural Edibles as well as some neat spices for health and flavour from the Weeds!
* billeting, camping might be able to be arranged with local Preppers. (I know some have offered to do so in the past)
car rides might be available to be arranged as well in advance for the non driving GTA folks.
Camping only at my place, unless you want me to set up a Canvas Tent for you!
I am running the Event, Karen is the specialist Guest Speaker Tour Host. The price pays for her 1000's spent learning this stuff , you get a field guid, PDF and some free samples to try.
please sign up, confirm, pay Karen in advance. If we can not fill the 20 spots from the huge amount of people from the GTA/Durham Region, we will open it up to non preppers from other sources.
I'll definitely go to the Hamilton Area Walk when it's up and running. Got two books for Christmas and went out to the backyard to try them out and forage. Conclusion: I'm in trouble and would benefit with hands on instruction. lol
This may sound like a silly question, but, how many edible species will you be familiarizing people with in this workshop? I am asking because money is tight for me right now and I am wondering if a drive and $20 fee will be worth it. I think already know a bit more wild edibles than the average prepper (but alot less than serious experts), so don't want to spend $20 to not learn anything new.
Please feel free to Look at her Website, her Facebook site to determine for yourself. Then use one of the contact methods mentioned above in my post.
Would be very interested in a Hamilton or Haldimand area event. Durham is a little too far for me.
bump as a reminder to all who said they would come out, please register now and thanks in advance.
Thanks Wild_E for the invite. I can't make it to this one, hopefully the next one if it's farther West.
If your home library contains more volumes about survival-related topics than your local public library, you might be a prepper.
So, I have Spinkx79 and Mule Skinner (coming from North West of North Bay! )
Dates have been changed to allow a bit more time, so please see original post as it is changed !
if the issues are;
1. Winter, I can assure you there are quite a few wild edibles even now and it is great knowledge, plus they look different in winter time.
2. Payment in advance, PM and we can work something out.
on this coming Sunday evening we will open the tour up to Facebook groups x2
raggety bump
This is a great idea everyone.. Unfortunately I'm unavailable for the upcoming walk but hope to join you guys on the next one.
This is a great investment for cost versus the knowledge you will gain.
I hope you get enough people for this walk as I'd like to see it continue through-out the summer months.
Also, On a side note: If you would like to plan the next walk to be in the Woodstock, On area, We own some forested property with a good selection of trails and different types of plant/animal life and would be happy to host one of the walks here in the coming months.
Cheers
Oxford
