Elgin county experienced widespread power outages and rolling blackouts yesterday. We were without power for most of the afternoon.
Sadly, I was unprepared!
I didn't even have propane in the tank to run the BBQ!
I took the spare propane tank to the cottage a month ago. Our other tank died last week.
So...
Off to the store I go to fill up my empty tank and buy TWO spares!
Anyone else get caught with their pants down?
aww - underprepared...and such a hot day too!! We all learn best by experience - bet it won't happen again 🙂 stay cool!

I wasn't caught, but our BBQ is hooked up to the Natural gas line. I just recently bought a side burner for it to boil water for my coffee and such.
"We 'Prep.' to live after a downfall, Not just to survive."
We ended up taking the stuff from our freezer to our landlord's place. They have a diary operation, so they have a lot of generators on standby... and thankfully room in their deep freeze. I was at work in London for most of the day then was meeting my folks for dinner, so other than that it wasn't much of an event.
A generator to keep the fridge running is definitely high on the list of priorities, the money's just not there for it right now...
