from what ive been able to find on line should be a good tool ! does anyone have one or can give me any feed back?
i order them off line if i would have known there was someone closer i would have gone to them thanks for the info i will have to check them out ( knifecentre.com)
I have one and love it, i'm Not very good yet but takes practice. If you break the handle the have replacements that come in a 3 pack for cheap. (or you could make your own)

I do have one. I bought it years ago. You can get quite proficient at throwing them with twenty yards. Here's a tip, when you release consider you are releasing a dart at a dart board. If you get the hang of that, you'll increase your accuracy tenfold and just remember it's not a long range missle. 😉
I used to keep it in my pack but I replaced it with a steel roofing hammer (now I carry that directly on my bush belt.
Same blade idea, just the roofing hammer is a lot more functional and sturdy with the hammer head and nail puller. Multi-tool hatchet. I removed and reattached the handle cover, the hollow serves to hold snare wire, fishing line and hooks and matches. That tool can get you through a tight fix. Of all the tools I have when I go "loning" in the bush it would be my first grab (with a map and compass that I always have on me) to keep in my belt if I had to leave the rest behind.
Good luck and have lots of fun with that throwing practice 🙂

roofing hammer does look like it would be a better tool !!!
Is it really all about practicality and precision?
That’s why my first choice was also the tomahawk. It was sure a lot more fun to practice throwing a tomahawk than it was a roofing hammer 😕 . After all, boys just want to have fun sometimes eh? That’s a good thing, all work and no play….you know the rest.
Anyway the development of any skill, the self-education and awareness of challenging and achieving our own new abilities is really what it's all about. Anything we actually do, instead of just sitting back and thinking about doing, is preparedness. I still toss my tomahawk around when I practice with my bow, it’s fun.
My greatest hope is that I never need to use the skill of throwing it.
Let us know how you make out throwing it.
havent used a tomahawk in a long time 25 years lol well i impressed myself the wife and kids after the third try it came back to me and i did well !!! and the best part i didnt break anything lol
but i do have to put a better edge on both tomahawks but they worked right out of the box! and only had to wait two days.. it was fun enjoyed throwing my new tomahawks!!
Whats easier to learn hatchet or knife throwing
From my opinion that depends, off-hand hatchet. Throwing knifes aren't too difficult to master, but a typical hunting-type knife generally isn't balanced for that and it's difficult to master them. I never have.
Glad to here you had fun with you new hatchets. How did the family do?
My one daughter is extremely good, she's also an active, dedicated hunter. My other, well she sticks to growing herbs etc...doesn't fish because she doesn't want to hurt a worm; you know, to each their own skills.
A Tomahawk like a knife has to be balanced to be thrown properly. If the tommy or knife hit face first on a target, the balance is way off. Its like the alignment on a tire, if you have the weight in the wrong place you'll get a wobble, some guys I knew made a living (well maybe a side job) of balancing these things, so that they would fly true. To make one is easy, to make it fly true is the skill.

Tomahawk I think is easier ! But that's just me I thrown knifes as well and have had better luck with tomahawks . If you put the time in am sure throwing a knife would work just as well I just haven't tryed !
I am just a simple man so somebody explain to me why "tomahawk".To attack or defend you have to be reasonably close to the subject ,expose yourself when throwing, cannot throw at small object, you have only one chance atc. If you use just .22 cal.(hand gun or long rif.)first you can just fire warning shut ,attack at distance, hit small objects, the intruder do not even know where you are.and so on. To me tomahawk was good for Indians when English were marching trough the bush in red jackets and drumming. Just my opinion. Henry.
Henry... I completely agree. The object is to engage your target effectively at the greatest distance. To me this is mostly a novelty and entertainment, not a real alternative for a weapon. It brings to mind that scene from, I think, Raiders of the Lost Arc... Harrison Ford is in the market and the dude is swinging his sword around. Ford just takes out his gun and shoots him and walks away. Same thing.
