This is my first visit to this site. I am wondering if this meeting is opened to anyone or do you have to register? I am new to this prepping thing but I do have a lot of life skills to offer. I know how to preserve food, make bread and I am also a welder. I don't know what I need to do being on a limited income and living in a 2 bedroom apartment. So I need onfo on how to prepare.
Hello and welcome.
Hope to see you at the meet 🙂
If it is a bright sunny day then, I will have my solar oven set up for who ever wants a chance to use it. I will also be bringing a penny stove, and a rocket stove, with a liquid fuel type burner (an over sized penny stove) if wood is not available. I will also be giving instruction/building a Solar oven with a cardboard box, aluminum foil and a sheet of glass. Hope to see you all there with something to contribute in the way of prepping or to learn.

but do you have any jerky left 😆
If there are going to be any dealers of Thrive foods there, my wife and I would be interested in talking to them. We are looking at that product line for some longer shelf life food storage. Anyone?
Hi oldschool,
I plan on attending our June 2nd meet and yes would love to do a brief show and tell on an easy
"radiation protocol" consisting of 5 key items you can pick up inexpensively for your medicine chest.
If you like and if time permits... I'd also love to briefly talk about a few inexpensive super nutritious foods that can
be picked up at bulk food stores... foods that will give your health a huge
bang for its buck! 🙂
I will bring along some samples for sure....
Looking forward to meeting you all!
regards
kate
Thanks Kate

"We 'Prep.' to live after a downfall, Not just to survive."
LOL... We should be yes.. that IS the date we have set for this meeting.
Hello everyone,
I'm brand new to this website, I'm an art student at the University of Guelph. I make art about life after a collapse and ideas about the future, so I'm very interested in the movement. I was doing some research about prepping and came across this forum, I would be very interested in coming to this meeting to talk and learn more about prepping. Because I am not a prepper myself I thought I should reach out to ask if I would be welcome at the meet.
I do often work in photography but I am not affiliated with any media agency and I absolutely respect the wishes of everybody attending the meeting to remain anonymous. I've read through this forum and saw that cameras are not permitted, I would mostly be interested in talking to people at the meet and taking notes about prepping and specific preps, but, I wanted to ask if it would be acceptable for me to bring a camera? I would not take any photographs of anything without first receiving permission.
Let me know what you think, it would be great to meet some local preppers!
Hello Rusty,
Could you upload some pictures of your work please? Would love to see what you are working on.
Thanks for asking btw.
No comment from me ATM
Of course.
Below are some links to images from my website that show some of my photography based work. Sorry the details are a bit fuzzy, I should have better documentation. As you can see the images that I've linked here have been altered digitally and have been drawn on, so you can't see he people that have been photographed anyway. I take photographs from the present or past (often of my family members) and alter them to be images from a fictional future. Kind of like visual art science fiction.
You can see a bunch of other images on my website:

I like to play around with the idea of futurology; studying and predicting the future, I think the most accurate prediction for the future ( and many people on this forum might agree ) is expect the unexpected. I think that more and more people in the world are feeling a lot of anxiety about the future, which is why I'm interested in talking to people to hear their ideas about the future and make art about it.
I would be happy to bring non-disclosure agreements; a printed document indicating that if i got permission to take a photograph it would be altered to ensure that anybody pictured could not be identified, that the original image would be destroyed and would not be published or made public in any way. If it is the preference of the group though, I would really enjoy coming to meet people to talk about preps without a camera. Like Desro said:
as far as the outside world / non preppers are concerned i would rather keep my black silhouette with question mark status, so the no recording / filming thing is completely understandable!
I can do the black silhouette and question mark 🙂
Thanks,
Dustin
very interesting bio
In his practice "he" appropriates the forms of systematic representation, museology and didactic illustration. "He" uses these forms as vehicles for absurdist science fiction narratives, attempting to subvert the semiotics of authoritative representation.
still no comment, up to the others
