Topic starter

heard about this today, wanted to share it with everyone.

http://nledger.com/new-citizens-arrest-rules-canada/

there a paragraph at the bottom of real intrest to some of us.

Someone acting in protection of themselves, family or property won’t face criminal sanction provided their actions are “reasonable” under the circumstances, although it may still be left to the courts to determine the boundaries of what’s reasonable.

Another tid bit of info put into a scenario, if someone steals your walking stick and you attempt to get it back from them, if they do not relinquish said item and continue to resist your efforts to reclaim your property, they have then committed assault, even by never touching you yourself physically in the first place. The same thing can be done for people who make physically threatening gestures directed towards you. Like punching their open hand, index finger dragged across the throat ect. I personally arrested a subject for gesturing with their hand that they were going to shoot me, i read the subject their rights to counsel and handed them over to police officers who then charged them with assault! It is good for all preppers to know what they can legally do to protect themselves/others and their property pre SHTF / TEOTWAWKI. Ty maxxpower for the topic as it made me want to share aswell 🙂 cheers!

Nice work Desro. If more people knew their rights and exercised them the world would be a better place.

indeed i just mentioned that in another thread weapons to use in self defence or something along that line. I am going to make a thread with laws that would be useful for preppers in canada for all to read aswell as adding scenario's to make these laws more understandable, as the laws to the scenarios i listed above can be a confusing mess at sometimes lol
