I do not know what area of Ontario

to answer that. . . the coldest part of the snow belt.
now i can't back that up with factual records, but we get a lot of snow, we get very very cold! we also get all the great wind that drops the temps to below what should be possible for a caring, loving GOD 🙂

yeah, it's going to be fun.

so far, heat tape for the hose, insulation for everything, tank heaters, a heater in the enclosure, and i still have to find a circulatory pumps of some sort.

thanks for the info. . .

my water delivery is delayed a week 😛
but we are still doing well. the wife picked up a infection, and has been bedridden for 3 days now. vomiting is a lot of fun without running water.

the platform is built for the water tanks. because of an issue with finding the right fittings (that don't seem to exist in this part of Ontario) plans B was put into effect. but after i bought the "wood/insulation" for plan b, plan C became a reality. the tank in plan b will stand up better full to the cold, and i have a tank de icer for that tank. the smaller tanks (4 instead of 5) will be used to plumb to the house.

while the large 6000L tank, and a smaller 1000L tank will be used as back up to refill the main tanks plumbed to the house.

the fittings i was finally able to get. . .leaked. i hope i fixed that problem last night. once the stuff dries i'll test it again.

found this the other day

losing water is a far cry from losing everything at once, but people that don't prep will find that they are not dead, but very uncomfortable. . . then many will die. i love the blinders that people put on.

Great article Entrophy. Seems like some people are finally being realistic in their vision and expectations of the aftermath. Still very sad though. To be forewarned is to be forearmed... as they say.
