Me too!
I've been collecting bricks, blocks, plate steel, stove pipe, whatever I can get for free (I love Kijiji).
Mine won't look as pretty, but I have the same idea in mind.

so for the three years we've lived here Ive had this broken down shed, more like a small barn. Its about 16' x12' with a loft that went the entire length with a little trap Ive called it my potting shed and hoped to fix it up as the south wall was completely rotted. So got some old storm windows from a friend and while I was away for three months hubby had the guys fix it up and add a bump out with the salvaged windows, new roof and board and batten siding.

So the plan is now potting shed/summer kitchen, just bought a 1930s Findlay Condor cookstove and have opened up a third of the loft, two windows in the eves now open with a pully system for ventilation and the rear has a dutch door. Still working on the inside but there is room for my potting bench in the south window bump out and room for my stove to create a summer kitchen section. Also the loft is large enough for a double bed so another duty is guest cabin! Its about 8 m from our back patio and mere feet from the garden so it needs to function and look nice. Here is a pic of the outside, inside pics to come as we progress, no power or water but I have ideas for that and welcome suggestions re cooking options over and above the cookstove. The red chairs are around our fire pit which I can also use for cooking.

The bump out is on the left and both front doors open, I saved the screens from our old gazebo and plan on mounting rods inside to pull them accross the doors at both ends. Bump out is directly south and double doors on the east side. Suggestions, any and everything are welcome!

Adding this here as there was some discussion on out door bread/pizza ovens - just for motivation

Pizza Dough - Makes three thin crust pizzas
Ingredients:
1 1/3 cups warm water
1 1/2 tsp yeast
2 tsp sugar
1 1/4 tsp salt
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp corn meal
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup bread flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder

Directions:
Using stand mixer with dough hook, place water & olive oil in bowl and dissolve sugar and salt. Stir in yeast and let bubble.
Stir in other dry ingredients. Knead to form soft but not sticky dough ( about 8 minutes). Remove and allow to rest about 45 minutes. If you don't have a stand mixer, just do it by hand.

Form pizzas, add toppings and bake at 420f for 15-20 min

To freeze dough place some olive oil in freezer bag and add dough squeezing out air, seal and freeze. To use, allow to thaw, remove from bag and place in bowl, cover with clear wrap, place in warm place for at least an hour.

Hey gang,
I am looking for ideas for an outdoor kitchen with wood cook stove and possibly an adobe oven for baking along with a food prep area and sink.
The location I am looking at is under our deck or in that area accessible from the walk out at back of the house.
I am looking at closing it in partially maybe.
Also our house is quite small (Chalet style).
This was only going to be a my backup plan to Plan A: the wood cook stove I wanted to install in the kitchen dining room area this year, but the boss just got a new pine hutch to put where the wood cook stove was going to go 🙄 😉 .....so this may be come Plan A 😥 .
The up side to this predicament is that the pine furniture will make a some great kindling 😛
So does anyone have any realistic ideas or examples of what they may actually have?
How are you cooking going to cook in the heat of the summer, cold wetness of the late fall, the black flies/mosquitoes of spring & summer and the bone chilling winter? .....and the only fuel realistically left to use is wood.
If you don't want to post publicly or are too shy please PM us.
Need some ideas, I have some pretty good ideas but I am open to suggestions please.
Thanks!

When I travelled to Jamaica a few years ago...all the kitchens were outside due to the extreme heat. As Bob Marley said...they all live in a single room with a bed..and its true. He did...outside of that shed like building was another that looked similar that had a firepit...a stack of wood and a kind of rockstove that they cooked in as well. Why not make a firepit with bricks and a grill and keep it simple by having it fueled by wood. Propane wont be around in an emergency and there is always a chance of running out...here is an example of what I am saying...

Update on the Potting shed/summer kitchen

Been quite the project and coming along - long way from the falling down shed it was! Insulation and paneling are done, loft re-enforced, still need to fix up the loft floor and clean up. Last thing to go in is my Findlay Condor cookstove and furniture & equip, think I almost could live in there or rent it out 😉
