Hello. I'm going to be purchasing some bare land this weekend to start preparing for my Bug-Out location. I was wondering if anyone is interested in hearing about the process I'm going through - will take me several years and I was thinking of posting some of my experiences into my blog. Just wondered if anyone here would be interested if I post here ...

If we survive next few weeks (month) we do not need to worry about "Bug-Out"
Just my opinion .

would be interested as I am looking to get some land soon as well.

Setup a trailer and start the build in my spare time

I am interested in how y ou selected the land as well...what factors did you look for?

ie: elevation?, under ground water source? Near crown land? ....

john the baptist was saying the world was going to end almost 2000 years ago, he wasn't the first, and very much not the last.

we made it thru (in my life time) Y2K, 5/5/2000, and 17/5/2000, 2000 new years, 9/11, 7/7, bird flu, Mexican flu, and i'm sure after a long day of work, i'll be coming home to a bunch of happy dogs on 21/12/12!

the middle east has always been crazy, russia has always wanted to push the limits of their former Glory, and NK is still run by a crazy kim! Iran will have the bomb soon enough, and the world will continue.

yes i think today's "issues" are a lot scarier then those of the past, but we always come out on the other end. . . and preppers have more reason to make it thru hard times.

i prep hard, but i don't worry much.

there is time!!!

i think that we've all felt that pressure at one time or another that the world was spinning out of control, it's really felt that way for a while now, and if you watch the news, or even the people around you it's starting to effect everyone. people are doing some crazy things.

i watched a women fall apart in a drug store over some anti inflammatory medication. her husband was in the ER (from the screaming i over heard) and he needed his medication NOW. she was a very very nicely dressed women clearly not coping with the issue at hand. from the show she put on, i thought she was picking up morphine or dilaudid for her nearly dying from pain husband. . . NOPE, it was a "drug like ibuprofen" i heard the pharmacist say. . . i've been on some strong anti inflammatory medication, THEY DON"T WORK FAST. . . if he needed something the doc would of given him a SHOT, so the world was NOT ENDING, but this women was screaming because she had to wait. . . she wasn't mad, she was crying upset screaming. . . NOT COPING!

i see this a lot at work, but i'm seeing a lot of stuff we'd never seen in our area before. care aids hired by family members stealing everything from the patient. . . a co artist helping a mentally delayed man sue his mother out of her house, and sue the brother as well. (he's a big player in our community, sorta like a judge or D.A. would be. . . )

people are doing bad things, in times that aren't as bad as they could be. . . when things get worse, these things, and other crimes will take over way beyond our imaginations. . .

there are always crazy things going on, sometimes it does feel like the end, that's when you need your prepping buddies to remind you that you just keep prepping, and move forward, not to be panicked into spending money on crap you don't need, but to prep according to your plan. . .

sooner or later things will start looking bad again. the middle east will riot, NATO might go in, iran might start something, Al qud's might blow stuff up in the west, there could be terrorist actions, Russia will keep posturing, there might be a limited battle with them. . . there might be more. . . there might be nothing.

the WEST is in syria, neither russia, iran and hezbollah have not done anything about it, israel is still a very real place, and the world is likely crazier then it's ever been. . .

but who has food in the pantry? cause you're doing better then most people.

all the above might happen someday, but not likely today. . . although it's a new moon tonight, isreal might turn iran into glass tonight. . . what they are 7 hours head of us? hmmmm i'm going over to BBC 😯

just take a deep breath and stay on course, the world will work it's self out. and damn it, don't worry until there is something to worry about. . . (advice i give my sleepless patients when waiting on a big test. . .when i was waiting on that big test it didn't really help, but i still give it. . . )

Very pragmatic observations Entropy. One skill that we develop as preppers is being constantly aware of the situation around us. This includes world events, societal trends, economic activity etc. Unfortunately most of this "news" is not good. It is easy to be affected by the constant barrage of present and emerging threats. The trick is, as you say, note it, file it, get on with life and don't worry about it. Very good advice, thanks for sharing.

Sorry I did not mean to alarm or that the end is coming .I am talking about big changes which would be too much for too many people and they are much closer than we are being told.Any natural disaster would be just adding salt to the wound.

I agree with ICRCC....we cant worry about the day to day things or we will all go a bit crazy!!! All we can do is prepare as best as we can with the tools that we have and be cognizant of what is happening, not obsess about it!

Prepare now and give yourself some peace of mind....oh and notice the lack of "good news" on the tv? Its because good news never sells!!

thanks bro. . .
i know i've felt the pressure build in the world a few times the last 4 or so years. . . i've asked older friends if "it's ever been this bad before" a few times they've talked about the cuban missile crisis, other times they've said "no, this is as bad as i remember". but in the end, the world didn't end.

i've read accounts of what happened in Egypt, and some American was stuck there, they found a safe place, protected by neighbours and hide until they could get out. but they were stuck for sometime. no prepping, no military back ground from what i remember, but this guy survived. i think other then being murdered, or blown to bits, most of us would find the will to make it through almost anything, preps or not. . .

i'm met people that lived in the subways in England during WWII, i've met people in concentration camps, one women lost her mind, a patient of mine, determined i was a "good man" after she watched me feed a man his lunch. . . but the whole morning, she kept asking me "you shoot me now?" . . . the next day she didn't know me from Adam. but i've met a business man that survived it with his mind, his wife was raped daily, i'm sure she has scars but she holds her head up, she smiled, she loves her kids and she survived. . .

all with no preps. what kinda of a chance do you give us?
i think pretty good.
