did someone one this form want some sks stripper clips?
i think it was on this form ..anyway i got 25 for free if someone wants them at June 2 meeting.
I would live to take those off your hands. I assume you are talking about the Hidden Valley meeting on June 2...
i have been looking into an SKS seem ok for the price how do you like yours?
love it 🙂
its a 1950 Russian tula with original spring loaded firing pin.
at the range today,( my first time at the 300 yard range) i hit the 12 inch target 10 out of 15 shots.
i thought that was pertly good for my first time.
ok...ok brag away all you snippers 🙂 ps had a 6X scope
I have the Chinese version. Brand new military surplus. Shoots really well and you won't find anything more dependable. Easy to take down and clean. Not a ton of parts and no tools needed. It isn't made to be a sniper rifle... just a gun that will shoot and shoot and shoot and do what you want it to do. 300 yards is pushing the envelope but grouchy's success shows just what it can do. I have iron sights on mine. Improved aperture type with a fibre optic front post. Curious where you have found a 300 yd range? The best I have found is 200. Please do tell.

I agree the chinese military version is the best SKS in my opinion (not the civilian model) as it has the chrome lined bore and althought sniper purists would argue the chrome lining affects accuracy, but it has better durability and can withstand the elements more then no chrome lined sks's plus they handle corrosive ammo better as well so its a solid trade off in my mind as you would most likely not be sniping anything with an sks as its a close to intermediate rifle. And we as preppers usually try to go for the things that last as long as possible! 😀
in response to your membership inquiry at EESA I believe it is $230 per year, first time $100 iniation fee. They have 4 outdoor ranges a 85M a 100M a 300M and a Trap range, they also have a 10 station indoor hand gun range and in indoor archery range. they just completed a 10,000ft clubhouse. You must be a member to use the facility. It is quite an impresive place, they also have an amazing open house coming up in June 9/10 you should check it out.
Thank you very much for the info. It seems reasonable. The only drawback for me is the distsance from me being in Caledonia.
