I'm not surprised. Tons of shows go into development all the time. Our show aims to be very authentic, we want to document the creation of a self-sustaining community without exerting any outside influence on it. We don't want to create conflict or manufacture any other dramatic elements. Please feel free to post any questions you might have.

Was this not done about 7 years ago with 2 Canadian families living out west for 30 days? The show got cancelled due to bad ratings. I realize there is one running in the UK at the moment, but I have yet to watch it. Love the idea though.

Yeah, I remember the program, and I was thinking anyone who contemplates doing this had better: 1) be in damn good shape. 2) In good physical health.3) Be mentally prepared for the hardship. 4) Had better have a firm knowledge in homesteading. 5) Be a glutton for punishment or crazy or both. Mind you, 10 years ago I would have jumped at the chance. 😆

10 years ago, I had those 5 qualities but then again, I was a SPPUT so it sort of came natural. Nowadays, not so much.

SPPUT is a term I have only heard being used by Canadian infantry. But, getting back to the TV casting call, I've been on TV more than once. I've had my 15 minutes of fame. It hasn't made me wealthier and women still don't get a flutter in their hearts when I pass by. I'm thinking that I'll pass on the casting call.
