Most landlords will not give you a lease past 1 year, if they do not know you.
After that, they might extend the lease.
In most cases they don't.
I've been a landlord in the past, & a lot of renters were a problem.
Some were total morons, after getting to know them past 6 months in the lease.
Not saying your part of the problem, it's just my experance dealing with landlord & tenant act & issues.
I'm not trying to be negative in your goals that you've set, anyways all the best in your search.
