We would like to be a part of a community based on self , respect for the land, respect for the people and preparedness. We do believe in God but we are not bible thumpers. We are more interested in the beauty of "to each his own".

We have two teenage children, a boy and a girl, who want to go to university, speak multiple languages and intend to home school. We like fishing, hunting, alternative energy, natural food and organic farming. We do not vaccinate and avoid pharmaceuticals.

We have located a parcel of land that will have to be cleared. We will build our homestead using alternative energy techniques such as solar, wind, wood and propane gas. We would like to identify others with the same ambition to make a community of like minded individuals either to share the property that we have identified or to locate their own homestead nearby.

From a security point of view it would be helpful if we were part of a community that was committed to working together. If interested please let us know and we can have a dialogue about our future plans.

God Bless You All

There is one power system that most people seem to over look that was used a lot during the war era. The system is a wood gas system. You can still find pictures of some trucks that used these to run the engine. The links below show home made and comercial gasifiers.
Good Luck.

Yes, Wood Gasification, Rocket Mass Heaters and Permaculture, and the Jean Pain Method of Bio Gas and Bio Heating all can change the course of our little evolution. Another step although one that will never be mainstream is the slowing down of Consumerism. Dang it 60-80K for a pick up truck! I love the old Model T's they were truly work horses and cost what about 1k, and they still run. I have given up the Keep up with the Jones's mentality a long time ago. Glad to see others joining who think the same.

Hey there greenshield. We're interested in what you're looking to set up. Where is the general area of the property and what are you asking for? Ex: $$$ to buy in or what

Hello Freedom,

We are just wanting to meet like minded people and families. We can either share our property, 66 hectares, or help others who want to buy near us. We are near Matheson, Ontario. We really don't want money. We really want friendship and community.

Also thanks for the gasification information and which we were aware of.

How do you all feel about aquaponics?

aquaponics with fish and plants is another great idea, and another way to help the world feed itself, I like that stuff as well, personally.

Is aquaponics the same thing as hydroponics?

Thank you for the reply, so correct me if I'm wrong, but you would allow us to bring our 32' trailer up there and live for free? Obviously farming and other "chores" are required. I study the military manuals a lot and speak with many soldiers in the states about security. I'm confident in my abilities and could provide security tips and services. Ex: set up Lp/ops, etc. all in all, there is 2, possibly 3 of us. We have 3 cats, 3 dogs (not attack/security trained). I'm a new member on this site so we can continue talking privately if you'd prefer, once I've had an account long enough n have clearance. Lol

As well, speaking of woodgas n such, if you're ever on YouTube, check out engineer1775. And his "shtf" partener southernprepper1. They both have incredible knowledge. Engineer builds woodgas powered trucks and generators, as well as many many homesteading inventions. Both preppers are very well known in the American prepper community and are definately pioneers in leading this "movement" as some refer to.

in reality yes, however aquaponics is proving much more suitable for a prepping exsistance. eactly the same set up however you have a bigger tank with aquaponics containing fish...the fish poop....the water goes through a bio filter...and feeds the plant roots.....hydroponics, instead of the fish you put in a fertilizer and calcium carbonate...

benifits of aquaponics over hydroponics...you have a protein source at the end of the day if you can get the fish to breed....hydroponics, much easier to manage and you could even go away for a few days at a time and let it self manage

Hello again Freedom. We do have an idea to make a sort of non-religious community for people of like minds. Let me know if anyone wants to work with us. One idea is to create a food coop. We would grow our own crops and the either exchange those crops with each other or sell them to the public as organic. Members of the coop can pay for the crops as well but at the farm price. I prefer to deal in gold and silver. But let's talk about it and see how much interest we can drum up, I sent you a private message as well. Greenshield

The aquaponics that you are talking about was shown on the T.V. program about doomsday preppers. They family converted deep end of their in-ground pool into a tapia fish pond. Over the fish pond was a chicken coop, arranged so that the dropping's fell directly into the pond. The water in the pond, was used to feed the hydroponic garden that covers the shallow end. The runoff, of course run back into the pond. 3 times a week they go fishing in the pond, fun for the children. The whole thing is covered with a tent that allows in the light frequency that allows the plants to grow but keeps out prying eyes.
