I just ran across these predictions for 2012 and couldn't have said it any better. The numbering sequence is a bit out but I removed any that might be met with negative rebuttal.

1. Air will still be more important than money. Air will still be needed by the lungs and air will still be taken for granted by most people until they feel they can’t breathe. .
3. Actions will still reveal the true character of a person more than a person’s words.
4. Attitudes will still need to be adjusted.
5. Anxiety will not decrease.
6. Beliefs will still have consequences.
7. Bad things will still happen to both good and bad people.
8. Birth, life and death, literally, physically and spiritually will continue.
9. Borrowers will still be servants to the lenders.
10. Banks will not admit that they have been making bad decisions that have hurt people.
11. Chance circumstances will not create living things
14. Cancer will still be profitable for the medical industry.
15. Dead people in the graves will not begin to communicate with living people.
16. Deception about what happens after death will continue.
17. Disasters will continue to increase in intensity.
18. Diseases not helped by “orthodox” cures will still continue to be successfully treated by natural means.
19. Enthusiasm for empty things will continue.
20. Economies will not improve and become prosperous for all.
21. Equality of human beings will continue to be divided by money.
22. Exceptions to the rule will continue to weaken the rules.
23. Faith in human reason and human judgment will continue.
25. Families will still be under mental, physical, spiritual, and moral assault.
26. Failures caused by human error and human selfishness will continue.
29. Garbage will still be published, produced, televised, advertised and accepted.
30. Good news will not become the main broadcast feature of ABC, NBC or CBS.
32. Health will not be restored by health insurance.
33. Hope will not die.
34. Human beings will not grow more loving and patient.
35. Illness and its causes will still not be understood by many.
36. Intensity of feelings will continue to increase and rule more people.
37. Investments in vanity and vain things will continue.
38. Insight into the sequence of final events for the world will still be available.
39. Junk for the mind and the body will still cost money.
40. Jails will still have less prisoners than sin.
42. Journeys to nowhere will still be taken.
43. Killers and killing will not cease.
44. Kindness will not dramatically increase throughout the world.
47. Love will continue to be easily counterfeited, misunderstood and missing from many hearts.
49. Luxury will still be mistakenly equated with happiness.
50. Luck will still be considered a business principle.

Why in this world, would any sane person promote anarchy, there are no laws or rule to keep your fellow man from bashing your head in because you caught him raping your little girl. Law of the land?, eat or be eaten, is that the way you want to live, if so move to Somalia where the War lords run the land and see how long you last. With out Law there is only Chaos, if the laws are bad, then you have three choices. Find a way to change them, Whine and live by them, or wait for the system to collapse and then re-write them. 👿

Well it is a good statement. As far as a question I think that your last option for changing the status quo is the answer:" wait for the system to collapse" is partly the answer. I tend to think , possibly incorrectly, that most anarchists have nothing to lose. They seize any opportunity they can to tear down societal structure. Perhaps in the hope that they would fare better in a "new society". Perhaps they just hate the control that society in general has over them. So to add to your question is life WROL the aim of the anarchist. If so they will have lots of vehement opposition from people like you and me.

I went through the entire thread...looking closely at Wildernessretuns posts...i don't see anything that seems that controversial. Just the back and forth with bugboy..

There is discussion on Anarchy...am I missing something on this thread? My apologies if it's staring me right in the face...i just can't seem to find it.

Being more left-leaning in my youth than (i'm guessing) most folks on this board, I've had the opportunity to meet and get to know a lot of anarchists. They're a-holes for sure, but they're incompetent as well. I wouldn't worry too much about an anarchist revolution or them using a catastrophe to further their own agenda... They'd be too busy with infighting to be effective in any sense of the word.

They can out maneuver police and break some windows for an hour or two, but when it comes to confrontation, they're all just loud posturing and not much else. You might get a ballsier one who might throw a punch, but when met with force they scream "oppression" and beat feet. I had one try to grab my camera during the G-20 because I was taking pictures of the Black Bloc rioting. When I grabbed him and assured him that if he touched my gear I'd 'F--- him up', he shrunk away. That was the theme of the day; if someone got in they're way they'd escalate, if an individual stood they're ground, these kids would back down, if the individual relented, they'd persist to intimidate them.

Blowhard A-holes, not much else... Most grow out of it by the time they finish their degree in the Liberal Arts or hit their late 20's.

As for their aims... your guess is as good as mine. As best I can tell the ideal is an egalitarian society where you spend most of your day trying to eke-out a living and the rest of your day in a spokecouncil with your peers arguing about how to divide up the grain supply.

Don't worry, I'm not a communist either. As far as I'm concerned they're as lame as anarchist, but more boring.

The Black bloc is a joke. They are creators of chaos and not creators of an anarchist society. Media has thrown the word anarchy around as if it means chaos. The Black bloc wants chaos, nothing more. In the spirit of Anarchy I however would give up my land title if it meant people would come and grow food and live without the structure of banking institutions and government. We are without a doubt living a lifestyle that is guided and controlled by someone of higher legal standing. If you fail to pay taxes then they can put a lien on your home and seize it if needed on the banks behalf, so where is the freedom to live as one wishes (off the land and the land only)? We are slaves with limited choice since all TPTB did is exchange the whip with paper currency. Unfortunately civilized anarchy cant take place because of a few asshats, therefore we must put up with Big Brother and its enforcement.

And by asshats I mean murderers, thieves etc.

I prep for any situation that doesn't involve a major meteor impact or all out nuclear war. Would not want to survive those two events to be honest. Even if you survived either of those a painful death from radiation poisoning, starvation and/or beyond freezing temperatures during the nuclear winter is all that would follow IMHO. Superstorms, natural disasters, societal/financial collapse, long term power outages and even food shortages and I am pretty much ready.

There is another factor that I believe is very important and overlooked all to ofter..
I believe there are basically two types of people in the world..50/50
1. People that do the right thing because they are driven to do so, and
2. People that do the right thing because they are afraid of the repercussions of doing whatever they like versus the right ting..

Years gone by it was easy to control #2 as the vast majority believed in some form of organized religion, and that if they did bad things they would burn in hell for ever..
But not any more....
I think that when the next issue is at hand, it will be honest people that will be outnumbered, by people with no fear of repercussion, and no fear of hell..
Do believe in Hell?? No. Do I believe in people? Some. Do I think that the other 50% will be an issue.....oh yeah.
