Hello All,

If you are like me, there are alot of things you want to buy in order to be better prepared for emergencies.
But we all don't have unlimited amounts of cash just sitting around....

So we usually shop through eBay, Amazon, Kijiji, etc as they are good sources to find decent items at reasonable prices in our local areas.

I was recently put onto a Government of Canada web site that I want to share. It is the branch that sells off government surplus. The link is as follows: http://gcsurplus.ca/mn-eng.cfm

There are distribution centers throughout the country. Just go to "What's for Sale", pick your area (don't bother to specify which commodity because you might miss something and there aren't too many at any time) and have a look at what is being auctioned off.

You can even make arrangements to go to see the items being auctioned. There are things that would appeal to any prepper who likes to get a deal. And for those of you who are very handy, you can get things really cheap if you know how to fix them.

You can also see "What has Sold" to get an idea of what can come up for sale and how much is sold for.

Thought this might be useful. Enjoy and Happy Bargain Shopping.

P.S. Looking for like minded people in Canada's National Capital Area.

Brad6692.

If your in the Scarborough/gta area, there is hero army surplus (really expensive) in Oshawa and my favorite is the little army store in Scarborough on bermondsey rd off of o'connor. South of eglinto. As well I think was mentioned is their second location in the courtice flea market. Check'em out, fantastic prices. Mostly military surplus. Chances are you won't find any molle gear or blackhawk crap. Hope it helps

Their prices are good on used BDUs n hiking bags, of course other things but definitely a must visit. We have a bit of a personal relationship, so really if you don't want to regularly shop there n just want a couple things, I can get you a much better deal. Oh! And their biggest deal, is a 12 box of MREs, $80 for 12 or $7 something individually, that's the public price. Everywhere else has that amount for $120 and up. Rey are the real military ones, not civilian ones btw.

Check them out!!!! You won't be displeased. I got amazing combat boots there in mint condition, used, for $45. Walmart carries a similar style, that isn't battle tested or military grade, for $120+ tax. (barf)
