I saw on youtube. That people are prepping for the zombie apocalypse. What do people think about having a back up plan for it?

You should always have a backup plan. Zombies not so much (unless you consider a virus as an analogy for a zombie), but for civil unrest, ebola, natural disaster for sure.

Yeah, I'm not into the whole zombie thing. Prepare for the most likely events first, then work from there.

I personally think that a "zombie" apocalypse is a good parallel for what will happen in a real SHTF scenario. People may not become flesh-eating, undead monsters, but they will be coming after those who have what they don't, especially if these items are on the list of things we need on a daily basis (food, water, shelter, tools, etc). There won't ever be anything remotely close to a zombie as portrayed in the movies, but bet your a$$ they'll be single-mindedly trying to take what you have, even if you threaten to defend yourself.

Hmm, I take that back. I don't think the zombie apocalypse scenario will properly prepare anyone for a real SHTF scenario. Zombies are slow-moving and mindless, while humans are cunning, devious and fast.

Well said. There is more to be afraid of actual desperate humans than zombies. . . .

We are way more unpredictable . . . . And.. . . .real.

LOL.

I like the zombie genre. I love The Walking Dead. I can't wait till Sunday night! It's been way too long for the group to be stuck in that train car.
I agree with the above comments that there are many parallels in real life to a fictional zombie outbreak.

The zombie thing is actually a credible threat, there was a TV special on virus's that could possibly cause an actual zombie threat. Rabies was on the top of the list if it ever evolved into an airborne threat. Rabies was listed as the top possible virus that could turn a person into a zombie like violent state and if it ever evolved how it could possibly change and the possible results. It was pretty interesting how they broke it down and what the CDC's thoughts on it were. The CDC actually backed up the story which was kind of unnerving to say the least, but at least we now know what the possibilities really are.

BOA.

Just remember.... the Boy Scouts have been saying it for years.... Be Prepared!
