Lets suppose there is a supply disruption let alone a complete and total collapse. I think it is imperative to have items not grown in Canada or at least in your neck of the woods for barter.

The things I plan on holding on to are Coffee, Cocoa, salt and sugar. Those are things that I believe are relatively cheap now but could fetch a 10-1 ratio (compared to now) later on. If I am wrong I guess I will consume those things seeing how I like them. Dehydrated bananas and such would also bring in a good trade leverage. They are now the things I am going to focus on. Anyone know where to buy 100% cocoa in bulk in Canada, online or otherwise? I think I would rather have cocoa over TP even, and thats saying A LOT. I wish oils stored well without going rancid.

If anyone has other foreign food ideas that store well please let me know.

I have thought along those lines too Gravlore. I have also been stocking spices as I feel these could have a dual purpose as well.
