This is probably more for the guys than the ladies here, but I a sure they can spin it to work for them, to keep your wallet safe.
I cannot take credit for this idea, as I got it from www.itstactical.com

I carry two wallets at all times.
Should someone decide they want to mug or pick pocket me, and finding myself "outgunned", my life is worth more than a wallet.
The inconvenience of replacing all of the cards, ID, etc, is not something I wish to go through, as I have been there before.

Lets call them primary and secondary wallets. The primary being the one I use most regularly, secondary being the one I use rarely.
Most people carry their wallet in the back right pocket, and so that is where I keep the primary, the secondary can be in any other pocket.

Starting with the secondary, as I feel it is the most critical to keep hold of.
It contains my drivers license, health care card, a credit card from one bank, and a debit card from another.
I also carry an encrypted USB drive with all of my critical documents, a few hundred in cash, as well as a barcode from the car dealership that they can use to reproduce the key for my truck.

In my primary, I carry everything else that I would normally carry.
Primary bank card, primary credit card, rewards cards, daily spending cash, etc...

This means at any point I can lose my primary wallet, still have access to two different banks, my critical health information, as well as information on the cards that in the primary to report them lost or stolen.
