If you really want to learn Survialism? (sounds like a religion, and should be) go to You Tube and watch Ray Mears. He makes "Stroud” look like an amateur (in which I think he is).

I don't think I want to learn anything from that dude (I can get into enough trouble on my own!) I'm surprised he's still on the right side of the grass after this episode! What is scary is that he teaches people to "survive"...! (I assume this was his "blonde moment" clip??) I've not watched survivorman so I'll assume he manages to survive without too much trouble but...
