Duffman,

I think if anyone really knew when the big one would hit, we would do either one of 2 things.

1. A big sigh of relief cause we'd have much more time.
2. We'd all be hitting the panic button to get things done PDQ!

Now as to personal SHTF... well all bets are off on that one. 😉
Just when you think are are getting ahead..something happens that says..OH YEAH, wanna bet?!!?
Or Ma Nature decides to throw us all a curve. In her tantrums, she can cause a fair amount of damage.

So to me, its all a guesstamation when someone says when it could/will happen.

Sixteen to seventeen months. Hand over "Panic button" . Final push is on to stalk the pantry. Good luck everyone.

With things the way they are right now, I would say keep that panic button mighty close by.

In the meantime, any extra $'s one has, put it into extra seeds/foods/water and a way to get more water/hand tools/extra clothing, etc...PDQ.

Don't forget those fruit trees/shrubs, etc.and the knowledge to look after them.
Also plants that 'come again' (as grandkids call them) will be very handy.
