Our third meeting will be[" July 21st, Beiseker, AB.. 12:OO noon"]..It will be at the campground 200 meters west of the hiway 72..#9 intersection..
This will be a rain or shine event no plan ["B"] needed..As there is a camp kitchen we can use if the weather is poor...I will be there with my silver jeep.
If the weather is good I will be parked in the south east corner of the camp ground. If poor, at the camp kitchen by the entrance..
If you want to bring a picnic or barbecue, by all means do so, the location is perfect rain or shine for such an event....
I look forward to a great meeting and maybe our ranks will double again...I look forward to meeting the members we missed at cochrane as well as any new members that will be attending.....
Again anybody that wants to bring some gear to show off and offer as ideas pls do so..
Remember all you lurkers are more then welcome to attend, we totally understand if you wish to come but not to post, we had a few last time and they found it to be a informative meeting...
It looks like we have some topics to get things going again..such as....
#1-bug out location for a S.H.T.F. situation..
#2 self sustainable community and location...
#3 Defending your family..
#4 food storage
#5 where and how to start prepping; it seems we have a lot of new members that are just getting started and would like some good advice on what to get....and how to get it on a budget....
If there are any lurkers that want to give a[ " I will be there "] and dont want to post, my e.mail is..... jfgaub@hotmail.ca .......
Just a few things to get the brains working....
See every one there....
Better to have it and not need it; then to need it and not have it...
See you there!
Traveller,
We had a good recce of the location. It will work rain or shine. Easy enough to find. Hwy 72 or Hwy 9.
I will be on the big roadtrip, so I will have to miss this one. Have a great meet!!
Mountainman.
It looks like we'll be able to attend again. See you all there!
Good to here that dangphool; see you there....
Better to have it and not need it; then to need it and not have it...
Just puting the meeting at the top of the page.....
Better to have it and not need it; then to need it and not have it...
Looking forward to the meeting.
Hmmm, maybe I should rethink the quiet part...
Hopefully some of our lurkers will show up again... adds to the numbers for discussions
Looking forward to it.
I have recieved permission from a farmer I know, to use his land for a meeting. We will be able to not just have a gathering, but also to practice setting up emergency shelters, building campfires, utilizing and showing off our bug out bags, etc.
As another bonus he and his family are interested in joining in.
The location is just west of Stettler, so it is very central and an even distance for those from Calgary and Edmonton.
I am still working out details with him and want to know how many of you would be willing to consider this location for the next meeting.
They do have a temporary cabin the boys are building and I am working on locating water we can use to show newcomers how to make use of their water filtration equipment.
I call on those of you with wilderness and survival skills to offer assistance helping newcomers become familiar with new and needed skills.
Hmmm, maybe I should rethink the quiet part...
I believe our location for meeting number 3 is adequate. Maybe lets see how many come out, and see if they want to take the next step to do such an ambitious meeting.I think it is a very good idea, but maybe a little rushed for a group that has only met each other just twice and some just once..And this gives you more time to set things up with said farmer. I think maybe he should come down to beiseker and meet us, remember we have met each other, but know one has met you, or said farmer, and building a prepper net work is all about trust, keep in mind that the people you net work with maybe the folks that you have to be in a life and death situation, so trust is a very important aspect of this, I am not trying to rain on your Idea, [" I think it is a very good one"] its just that I have met the folks that will come and they are a very careful bunch, about who, and how they meet.....I think one more low keyed, and then we should have the makings of a good group to net work with....
Just My thoughts....
Better to have it and not need it; then to need it and not have it...
Quietman...we haven't met the farmer yet, but have met you so, for us the basics of a network have started and can expand from here maybe in an Red Deer-Edmonton group and then expand outwards to a bigger group. The Calgary group has had a couple of meetings and appear to be expanding now, and maybe we should use their experience about starting small. Should we set up a thread for the North Central forum participants and get their input about meetings and trust? Maybe those from the northern section of the Province around Fort McMurray and Grande Prairie areas could start small and then move into bigger groups as well as they feel more comfortable. I think there is a lot of fear about sharing too much information about "plans" and particularly "equipment" and maybe we can deal with it as smaller groups more effectively. If people want more low key, we could get together as we did in Edmonton a few weeks ago or maybe closer to Red Deer or if they are more trusting we could meet at "the farm". I will be back in town after the long weekend and should have more time available to discuss plans, either on the forum, by phone or in pm's.
PS....we've met Quietman and he's a good guy 😉

I belive you have a good idea there morningcoffee, have regional meetings, and build a net work, in the area you prep in..
Better to have it and not need it; then to need it and not have it...
Thank you Morningcoffee. And thankyou also Traveler.
I will be at the Bieseker meeting and will keep chatting in posts and pm's.
Hmmm, maybe I should rethink the quiet part...
I've just found out about this network and I'm glad to know I'm not the only "nut" on the block. I cleared the date and will be glad to meet like minded individuals.
