LOL...nice.. thats 20 feet with the right detector. Commercial and military will penetrate that depth. Treasure hunters not so much.
Utility lines give off a charge or transmit a signal, and in most cases each line has a different charge or signal just like radio stations. However, some lines do not give off a charge or transmit a signal. In these cases, a transmitter can be used to induce a signal onto a metal line, which allows the locator to pick up the signal.
Utility locators are not magnetic.
To deter, throw a few handfuls of ball bearings or nails throughout the area of your cache.
No experience, just a wild guess. 😉

or landmines.
See you all after.
Buggie,
Landmines, may be a bit extreme today. Tomorrow??

When i initially saw "septic tank" i thought of the cement one i have. Of course it is more expensive but would make a small but solid bunker/storage. And if you just hired a contracter to dig the hole and the seller to drop it in the hole, you could say you are going to do the rest of the "installation" yourself. They might think you're nuts, but probably wouldn't realize what you were using it for. You can get extensions and put them quite deep if you like.

They will not think you are nuts all, I can assure you of that but I am admitting nothing. 😉 :ugeek:
