Good to see you all... we are all in training. That never stops. There is another here on the forum that is arranging for an early May get together in Bragg creek area. Stay tuned.

Remember... the idea is to plan ahead but dont forget to live in today. If SHTF and we are forced to implement the skills we have learned... you want to align with those you trust most. So... dont give up what you have, where you live, where you will go unless it's to those you trust most. It could mean your life or your family's or both. People as a rule get downright nasty in extreme situations and the vast majority lose all sense of moral integrity. Lets work towards meeting and greeting and developing friendships and looking for those we can align with. Strength in numbers.

Hello, new to the site. Formerly from Calgary, living in the Yukon now. I have been a short term prepper for some time and am looking into more long term suggestions and answers.

I will be in Calgary the weekend of April 27 2012, looking for some stores that specialize in this sort of thing. If anyone has suggestions on things such as alternative power, seeds/gardening. Those sort of things, it would be greatly appreciated.

As a heads up, most of us who met at the Alberta meeting in Bragg Creek were mostly from Calgary or surrounding communities.

I'd encourage those of you who can, to come out to the next one that Traveller organizes; it was good to put faces to 'handles' and to be able to rationally discuss some of our fears and hopes. Eventually, we'll discuss longer term intentions I'm assuming. Most of us were of the pack approach rather than the lone-wolf, to give you some idea of motivations.

Anyhoo, maybe we'll see you at the next one.

Hey I'm new to the network and am looking into getting my foot in the door. Im in agreeance that we should get together and get to know one another and train together.

I am also new to the prepper network and i'm glad i found this site. I will listen to Dangphool's advice and try to go to the next meet in Cochrane. I wanna get more knowledge on prepping and training with other preppers as well.

I'm also in Calgary and fairly new to this but looking to learn! Would love to meet other's in Calgary!
