The Beretta Storm is a great little carbine. Accurate, lightweight, easy to handle/shoot and reliable. You can't go wrong with one of those.

If you are not familiar with it check out the JR Carbine(non-restricted) which comes in 9mm, .40 and .45. A conversion kit is also available to convert from one caliber to another if you want to.

The issue with any "black gun" that isn't restricted is hat they still look like they are and the average Mountie or other LEO will just freak out if they see you with one of them in an "unrestricted" setting. The absolute minimum thing I would do if I owned and shot one of them on public land (or carried one in my car's trunk) would be a stash of website listings at clearly put a picture of my black gun along with the clear wording "unrestricted" beside it!

An unsolicitated comment regarding the CX4 : if you're getting a 9mm pistol, why not getting the 9mm version instead of the .40? Commonality f ammo makes sense from a prepper's point of view and, typically speaking, 9mm is cheaper, more accessible and more likely to be sold in bulk amounts.

I would choose the 9mm as well. Cheaper to shoot and more plentiful ammo. As mentioned, check out the JR Carbine and the Thureon Defense offerings. Check out some of the business sponsors on Canadian Gun Nutz website for availability and best price.

To answer the question about the 9 mm all my guns are 40 al but the 1911s those are 45 but I wanted most of them 40 for the reason it has enough stopping power plus law enforcement and military use that
But not sure if I should have a 9 mm just incase or could I use 9mm in a 40 cx storm

Actually, the NATO military forces use 9mm and at least half the police use 9mm.

True but RCMP use 40 and in regards to military it's hit and miss on who used what but 40 does have more stopping power lol

I'll agree on the more stopping power, but the RCMP's S&W 5906 is a 9mm... And I can't think of any military force that uses .40; some used to have .45, but that's not the case anymore.

As a military member, I can verify that all NATO forces use the 9mm with the exception of the US Marine who have returned to the .45 cal 1911. The 40 S&W was/is popular with law enforcement but is falling out of favour as modern bullet technology has pretty much equalized the stopping power. And on the topic of stopping power, who has neutralized more combatants? the military with the 9mm or the police with the .40? Not even a close comparison. But if you have all .40s already, it may be worth it to you if you reload that ammo.

The USMC use of the .45 1911 has been hit or miss since widespread use of the poly 9 mils. The 9mm is still the sidearm for training and issue to most U.S. SNCOs and officers, MP & equiv, and branches where a carbine is too big, although the M45A1 is being phased in with USMC combat troops (grunts, anti-armor types, armor types) and some K9 units are already there. Special Operations from all services routinely have and have always had access to a number of .45 cal alternatives, from handguns to SBR/carbines (and other goodies like the M14).
U.S. cop shops tend to be 50/50 9mm or .40 now, with very select departments choosing one of the .45 polys.

Sometimes when a service member says they hate the 9mm or 5.56 for its lack of stopping power, what they should really say is that they hate ball ammunition. In both those calibers, ball is largely **[insert favorite expletive noun]**. If NATO and the U.S./Canada allowed more effective ammo in the 9mm and 5.56, fewer people would leave the various services hating them.

That said, comparing military to cop guns for takedowns isn't overly fair.
Most military drops are performed by a rifle or carbine whereas most cops use a handgun.
Run of the mill street, beat, and plainclothes cops typically only reach for a long gun when alligators are already rib deep or they expect to be way, way past the waist in alligators.
Most military members only reach for a handgun as a backup or because they're not a primary combatant, but the alligator level has risen.

Before you buy a super ton of ball ammo for practice, find the home defense, and in the cases where it applies, the LAP or soft tip or specialty impact round you plan to use when bad guys knock.
Then buy sample groups of the less expensive ball ammo.
You're looking for the ball ammo that shoots the most like your pick "real word" ammo, not the FMJ round tip/ball ammo that shoots the tightest group.

In fast-paced center mass shots, the difference isn't huge most of the time. When you need to make that one perfect shot, though, an inch or two difference in pattern combined with adrenaline and sweat or worse can make a big, big difference.
If you're overly worried about it, remember that practicing with the ball ammo that creates the most similar pattern at the greatest variety of ranges to the pick ammo is just like practicing with the pick ammo. If you're missing with the practice ammo, you'd be missing the real shot, too.

Glockman hit the nail on the head with reloading. It isn't a terrible idea for almost any caliber, depending on how often you shoot and what kind of setup you choose to go with.
