I made the rounds of the surplus store stores today and found some killer deals. the Plugs and panel mount receptacles below are of the type, (outdoor) that you could use for setting up a generator for back up power at your house, these are brand new, the smaller plug set is rated for 30 amps, and as a set is selling for 5 dollars, that's plug and receptacle!!! the retail for this would likely be north of 300.00. These are top industrial quality!!

The larger set with my hand in the picture (for scale) is rated for 100 amps, again top quality, brand new, sold as a set is 15 dollars, and if you had to buy this at retail would most certainly set you back over 500.00! as a set

I bought all I wanted, there were still some left, if anyone else is interested pm me and I will tell you where they are for sale, though They were selling fast.
These plugs (unlike most) happen to have a DC voltage rating, so maybe you have a movable (tilting ) solar array? you then can use soow cable, and these plugs....hint hint....( at least last time I checked code)

I found a couple water distillers for sale. I bought this one, its made by polar bear water distillers retails for something like 800.00, I got it for 35.00. gave it a test and it works fine. They had another one, much larger all stainless, with a stainless steel storage tank, made by the same company, retails over 1000.00, they have a price of 165.00 on it, I spoke with a fellow there and they did test it and it was working fine....if anyone needs one pm me and I will tell you where to find it. These are used, not new, but mine is near mint...The other looked good to me as well

Once settled back in AB, I may need to find out more about your preferred shopping spots! Great deals on the receptacles! New house seems to have a rudimentary generator hookup (there is a light switch by the electrical panel labelled "Generator / grid". Didn't notice the expected set up however so a 30 Amps receptacle would have started the project nicely.

The deal just keep coming..

a dozen more where these came from...

brand new Exhaust blower motors for mid efficiency gas furnaces.....the oem part numbers I looked up on google and the are in the 250 US dollar range..roughly 30-35 dollars, these are perfect for wood stove blower motors...lots left

and brand new 3 foot black chiminey pipe, double wall, extends to 6 feet , I did buy the last 3 pieces though...sorry I was greedy at 5 dollars a piece I could not resist

I think those 3 pieces would have run me to nearly 200 dollars at retail elsewhere

Zana that is one of my regular stops when I get to the city. I have had more luck finding elbows- 45s and 90s at that store than full lengths but it all depends when you stop in...im a regular there....that's also a good store for grinding and zip disks.
